thank you kindly for your comment. unfortunately i live in the u.k. but if you are ever here then yes drop by and i will definately paint you. i have painted 100's of people over the years. a couple of years ago i did a project in prep for a competition. i went to a cafe where the elderly hang out. i asked their permission to take photos and explained what i was going to do with them. i had around 12 people i used for this. painted them all. i was very pleased with the results, especially one in particular. i took the finished paintings along one day to show them. only the one one i was really excited about...the lady hated it. she started screaming at me that she looked nothing like that. i felt like sinking into the ground with shame. anyway turns out she is in denial of her age(arent we all! )i did every line spot curve etc it was perfect in realism. there was a lovely couple there who have not seen their paintings yet....and i have not seen them again either. the husband painting won me artist of the year.i prefer to paint older people as their character is more prominent. i find older people extremely interesting....they know so much and can teach us.i have geat respect for them.i miss my granny deeply she was the most caring lovable person i have ever met, with a wicked sense of humour too.sorry i go on a bit.i'll stop here. thanks anyway x mandy
