My name is Nelli Khatmoullina. I was born in Ufa - the city of about 1.5 million population, located at the bottom of South Ural Mountains, in European part of Russia, in 1983. I spent all childhood and youth over there. As far as I remember myself, I always drew, painted, and created something. I went to a lot of different courses which required hand-made (crafts) skills. I attended The Ufa Art School for four years (1994-1998) and graduated with a good diploma. After high school, I studied in The Ufa Institute of Technology and Service (2000-2002). My major was Social-Cultural Tourism and Service, management. I didn’t graduate because I moved to the United States, where I live now. I got married in Cleveland, Ohio. I finished English courses in Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and took Graphic Design program in Lakeland Community College, Kirtland, Ohio. I graduated this year (2008) with honor.
Right now, I’m a freelancer who is trying to work hard as a graphic designer, an artist, and an illustrator. I’m always looking for opportunity to work with good company.
In my work I use all kinds of art media: oil and regular pastel, oil, watercolor, color pencils, acrylic, pens, markers, ink, clay, paper, fabrics, etc. As far as digital media, I work with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign programs.
I have some different styles, but the most useful style is colorful, cheerful, and happy looking. I love fantasy, children, animals, pets, and people themes. I like to work in black and white (graphics) and very bright colors at the same time.
